I have to give a huge shout out to my jeans for holding it together yesterday! While visiting the potty (rather early in the day), I discovered the seat of my pants resembled the floorboard of the Flintstones’ car. At that moment, I knew my pants and I had to have a serious discussion about what their objective for the day was going to be. At first the pants were very disgruntled…they felt over worked. Understandable, I don’t make it easy on them! We discussed if we really wanted to scar first graders for life, prompting angry parental phone calls. We decided that would not be the best use of our time. SO, I gave the pants a pep talk and told them why they’re loved, we held each other, sang Wilson Phillips Hold On (for one more day). Honestly, it was some of the best teaching I’ve done all year. They finished the day weaker in material but stronger in spirit! Way to go pants! Enjoy your retirement!
